Missions statements are fundamental when it comes to promoting a brand/company and showing the purpose of its existence. However creating different mission statements requires a large amount of brainstorming and creativity. While creating missions statements for our alianzas, we encountered several challenges. For example, we had many difficulties in terms of creating and thinking of different phrases that followed the rules of a good mission statement such as to not use complex words and instead to keep it simple and catchy so that it could be memorable and easy to remember, at the same time as communicating the main objectives of our group. Since we had to brainstorm of one or more statements, we tried to think about different ways to approach an audience keeping in mind the image that this will portray on them. We overcame this obstacle by looking over the different tips to creating a successful mission statement and later looked at the statements we had created and chose the one that best represented us and that was best put into one phrase.

I believe that the most important rule and advice when one is making a logo deals with making sure it is visually attractive without over loading it with special effects and colors. I personally think that to attract a persons attention it is not necessary to have big letters or multiple images and strong colors, but instead to keep it simple because this way, people will be able to understand the main point of the logo instantly and not get "dizzy" with so many words. Independent if the logo portrays what a company/ product does, keeping the image simple and direct with allow for an audience to recognize it instantly. When referring to keeping a logo simple, it does not mean that it has to be colorless and with just one image, but it can also include fun effects such as negative spaces or a double entendre, meaning that it can show different or hidden meanings to a single image. For example, the Apple logo shows an apple with a "byte" and it does not include huge words or images and yet it is one of the most popular logos around the world. In other words, it is important to keep a logo simple because the whole intention of making a logo is for people to REMEMBER the brand. It has to STICK to peoples minds because they are what make costumers choose one product over another since people tend to follow brands that are familiars. Do you agree with me?

For the first time, I used a professional remix site, Partycloud,  to make my own mix of songs. I found this exciting task difficult and complex at several moments, but never the less fun. One challenge that i faced was choosing songs, not only because it was hard to decide from all of the song that I came up with and would like to make a remix with, but also because it was challenging to find two songs that coincided on their beats and type of music, aiming for a smooth transition. I was able to overcome these difficulties because i spent a large amount of time, both my house and at school, playing around with different tools and mixing up two songs. I finally found five songs that had almost perfect transitions and i utilized these. In addition, i did not start each song from the beginning, but instead i started songs at points where a the beats of the two songs would coincide. Overall, this was a great experience both because i was able to learn more about remixing, the tools necessary to use for a better transition between songs and what types of songs best combine. What have been your challenges when remixing?

After testing out various remixing sites, I could easily come to a conclusion on which i thought was best due to its features and how easy it was to utilize. The site i enjoyed the most was Party Cloud. This is because, unlike the two other sites, it contained a beat visualizer and a synchronize button which allowed me to mix two different songs and see how their beats compared. I really liked using this site because of how it was set up and how it was so easy to use, knowing where each button was. The other site that i enjoyed using, however less, was Until AM. It contained the basic elements that Party Cloud had and had a greater variety of songs. The reason this was not the best site was because it did not have the beat visualizer or the automatic synchronizer. Its setup, however, was also very easy to utilize and despite the previously mentioned negative elements,  I would also recommend this site. The site I least enjoyed was BLOB because I personally found no pleasure in changing the volumes of instruments in a song, however, it could become useful when trying to do songs without their instruments or with only one beat. For these reasons, the site I recommend the most and that I believe includes the best tools in remixing is Party Cloud. Party Cloud: http://www.partycloud.fm
Until AM: http://mix.until.am
 BLOB: http://www.blobprod.com/mixers/beatbox/beatboxmain.asp

For music fans, having to obtain the permission of the original author to do a remix or utilize their music can be  a negative element. This is due to the fact that some fans really enjoy music and have ideas to modify songs and possible create a mash-up on two songs. Having to ask permission to the direct artist to use their songs can become a dilemma being that not everybody has access to them. Many users on YouTube change songs and create their own versions, however, despite the fact that they may include the information about the original song, it is not officially correct and allowed for them to do so according to the standard copyrights requirements. I believe that the terms in order for someone to use the song of an artist have to be changed so that people around the world can use songs of their like to create an original piece, as long as they include the information of the original song and artist. For these reasons, I believe that fair use becomes a negative element for music fans.

The type of technology tools that schools should make sure all students have access to are laptops, ipads or computers in each classroom. Despite the fact that many people argue that this will create a decrease in writing practice, it is important that we assume the increase in technology in daily routines. For this reason, each student should be allowed one of these tools in class so that they can take down notes in a faster way, access internet for more information, among others. In addition, the majority of students occupy technological devices out of school, of which most of the time are spent on websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc.. instead of homework. If more technological devices were available in school, I believe it might allow students to have a better control on the time spent on computers at their houses. What do you think?
